SFY CNC's Medium 5-Face Machining Center (often referred to in the industry as a 3+2 axis or 4+1 axis machine) is designed for manufacturing environments that demand ultimate detail and geometric alignment precision. Through a single setup, this series completes 5-face machining on medium-sized workpieces, completely eliminating the cumulative tolerances caused by manual flipping and repositioning on traditional 3-axis machines, maximizing both production capacity and yield.
Unlike simultaneous 5-axis machines focused on continuous surfaces, our medium 5-face machining center utilizes high-rigidity rotary positioning to focus on the multi-face finishing of medium-sized parts:
When your production line processes moderately sized, high-value components demanding strict alignment tolerances on all sides, this technology is the ultimate choice:
Machining medium parts with multi-face features on a standard 3-axis machine requires multiple manual flips. Each flip breaks the original positioning datum, generating "cumulative tolerance." A 5-face machine automatically rotates and locks to machine five sides in a single setup, guaranteeing the strictest geometric tolerances and factory yields.
Not recommended. This machine is primarily positioned for "high-precision finishing" and "partial semi-finishing." Roughing generates massive cutting resistance and severe vibrations, which over time degrade the machine's geometric accuracy and spindle lifespan. To maintain the machine's flawless finishing performance, we strongly advise handling rough machining on dedicated heavy-cutting machines before moving to this center for final precision completion.
Not recommended. Turbine blades require "simultaneous 5-axis" capabilities to cut complex 3D continuous surfaces. Our 5-face machine (3+2 axis) locks the rotary axes at a specific angle prior to cutting. This design offers exceptional positioning rigidity, making it the most cost-effective choice for multi-face planar milling, angled precision framing, and deep hole drilling on medium-sized workpieces.
